Employees in sectors such as battery production, foundries, welding, galvanizing and mining may be exposed to heavy metals. Early detection is the only way to prevent permanent health damage, and the legislation requires regular biological monitoring for certain types of work.
Markers such as blood lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and chromium are analyzed, supported by urine samples where the nature of the work requires it. Results are reported against biological limit values. Employees approaching the limit are flagged to your occupational physician, so measures such as job rotation can be taken in time.
