Sharps injuries, contact with soil and animals, and exposure to blood and body fluids make vaccination necessary in many sectors. The most common needs in the field are tetanus, hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccines.
Under the Regulation on the Prevention of Risks from Exposure to Biological Agents, employees exposed to biological agents who are not yet immune are offered suitable vaccines in cooperation with the provincial units of the Ministry of Health. Vaccination is carried out for agents with an effective vaccine and employees are informed of its benefits and possible effects. The cost of vaccination is not charged to the employee, and a vaccination certificate is issued for each employee. The regulation's annex lists hepatitis B and tetanus among the agents with an effective vaccine.
Vaccines are transported under cold-chain rules and administered by our nursing team after a health check. Each employee receives a vaccination card, booster dates are entered into a corporate follow-up chart and reminders are sent when doses fall due. Seasonal flu vaccination is not a legal requirement and is planned as part of a corporate health programme.

In which jobs does vaccination come up?
The regulation's annex lists work with possible exposure to biological agents, such as health services, clinical and diagnostic laboratories, waste processing, sewage and treatment, agriculture, work with animal products and food factories. In these jobs, non-immune employees are offered vaccines for agents with an effective vaccine, based on the risk assessment.
Who pays for vaccination?
Under the biological agents regulation, the cost of vaccination is not charged to the employee and is covered by the employer.
