First aider certificate approved by the Provincial Health Directorate
The Regulation on First Aid requires workplaces to keep certified first aiders based on employee count and hazard class. At least one first aider is required per 20 employees in the low hazard class, per 15 in the hazardous class and per 10 in the very hazardous class. These ratios also form the basis of first aid support staff assignments in the emergency action plan.
We organize the training with first aid training centers approved by the Ministry of Health. The 16-hour basic first aid course is delivered at your workplace whenever possible, and after an exam supervised by the Provincial Health Directorate, participants receive the official first aider certificate. The certificate is valid for 3 years and is renewed with an 8-hour refresher course before expiry. We track the schedule and notify you in advance of approaching deadlines.
We monitor your first aider headcount against employee turnover and fill gaps with new training groups, so you never face a ratio shortfall during inspections.

Questions about this service
Does every shift need a first aider on duty?
The ratios in the regulation apply to the workplace as a whole. For real protection, however, we recommend enough first aiders on every shift and plan accordingly using your shift roster. Inspectors may also question the distribution per shift.
